"The Children of Sanchez" is a 1978 biographical film based on the book of the same name by Oscar Lewis. The film tells the story of a Mexican-American family living in poverty in the outskirts of San Francisco, California. The patriarch of the family is Jesus Sanchez, played by Anthony Quinn, who struggles to provide for his numerous children and his wife. It follows the lives of the individual family members, their struggles, and their relationships with each other. The film was directed by Hall Bartlett and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Score.
